I have used PowerDesigner since v12.5 but always out-of-the-box functionality. I was introduced to customization recently and now I need to really get down and dirty as I have been asked to customize our business process diagrams/models with Data Entry Forms and a number of VB methods.
I do not have much experience with VBScript and I need to provide a number of solutions so the users can open a template and run with it...
A few of the requested solutions are as follows:
- Provide a "Tool Tip" where a Mouse Over will provide simple short descriptor of the needed information. This request is still outstanding for PowerDesigner attributes that I have not created (out of the box like Name, Code, Stereotype, Comment, etc.).
- When dropdown "A" value is selected, trigger PowerDesigner to assign a specific (predefined) stereotype value. How do I trigger the stereotype value to change if an extended attribute dropdown value is selected/changed?
- Applying a value within a restricted dropdown (String; List of Values; Complete=TRUE) will populate a second editable dropdown (String; List of Values; Complete=FALSE) within the same form. I need to know how to tie a second dropdown list to a changing first dropdown list.
I have many questions that I need to work through but these a easier. I also need to know if this is the right place for my questions as I see a few different forums out there. I assumed this would be the best starting point. Please let me know if there are other places I should utilize to get my questions answered.
Thank you,
Jason
